| Understanding What Causes You Stress |
| What causes stress depends, at least in part, on your perception of it. Something that's stressful to you may not be stressful to someone else; they may even enjoy it. The potential causes of stress are numerous and highly individual. For example, your morning commute may make you anxious and tense because you worry that traffic will make you late. Others, however, may find the trip relaxing because they allow more than enough time and enjoy listening to music while they drive. The situations and pressures that cause stress are known as stressors. We usually think of stressors as being negative, such as an exhausting work schedule or a rocky relationship. However, anything that puts high demands on you or forces you to adjust can be stressful. This includes positive events such as getting married, buying a house, going to college, or receiving a promotion. Let’s look at some common external and internal causes of stress: Not all stress is caused by external factors. Stress can also be self-generated: Such as follows: (1) Major life changes: Financial problems (2) Work: Being too busy (3) Relationship difficulties: Children and family...........Not all stress is caused by external factors. Stress can also be self-generated: (1) Inability to accept uncertainty (2) Pessimism (3) Negative self-talk (4) Unrealistic expectations, perfectionism............It’s important to learn how to recognize when your stress levels are out of control. The most dangerous thing about stress is how easily it can creep up on you. You get used to it. It starts to feels familiar – even normal. You don’t notice how much it’s affecting you, even as it takes a heavy toll. The signs and symptoms of stress overload can be almost anything. Stress affects the mind, body, and behavior in many ways, and everyone experiences stress differently. How do you respond to stress? (1) Foot on the gas – An angry or agitated stress response. You’re heated, keyed up, overly emotional, and unable to sit still. (2) Foot on the brake – A withdrawn or depressed stress response. You shut down, space out, and show very little energy or emotion. (3) Foot on both – A tense and frozen stress response. You “freeze” under pressure and can’t do anything. You look paralyzed, but under the surface you’re extremely agitated..............What Causes You Stress/Distress in Your Role? (1) Lack of support from peers (2) Enforcing rules on peers and others (3) Lack of organization (4) Lack of commitment / follow up (5) Dealing with people who are offended by something you’re done (6) Complainers (7) Blamers / Jealousy (8) When to back off / People sabotaging our efforts.

| Meaning Of Leadership |
| Leadership is the ability to help others move toward an agreed-upon Vision. Let's see what Matt 4:19-20 say: He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men." They immediately left their nets and followed Him. From the about writing, the description declares the Leadership style of Jesus Christ. He was a leader with a clear Mission. His primary motivation and purpose were glorification of His heavenly Father. Secondly, Jesus was a leader with consistent character. He lived what He taught and believed. Thirdly, He was a leader with a capable team. Jesus knew with committed, gifted individuals around Him, He would reach the world.
When you have a clear Mission, it serves as a compass to point you in the right direction. Your mission is what you are to do as you fulfill God's purpose for your life. A clear mission focuses you on what's important. Your mission keeps you on course. A mission serves as a filter for new ideas. You reject an idea that does not line up with your purpose. Your mission will also serve as an evaluation tool. In today's world, Ministries, Families, or Individuals have a tendency to drift from their original purpose. You should have your life's mission written down to guide you on your Journey of Life. A mission statement properly placed within a system can sound the alarm once a ministry, family, or individuals begin to CHANGE in an unhealthy manner. A mission should reflect priorities. Your mission when it well defined, would be used along with your talents to their maximum potential. Jesus was mission focused. He was mission driven and used interruptions as opportunities to apply His purpose. Jesus understood why He was on earth. He knew where He was going and how He was to arrive at His destination. Jesus' whole being was bent toward doing the WILL of God. What is it that God has called you to do in advancing His Kingdom here on earth? Please submit your response to this blog. |
